Tourist Offer
The modern traveler is equipped with plenty of information. Every corner can be found on the internet, along with its description and explanation. However, a genuine conversation with a tourist information provider is worth much more. Tourist providers, and there are quite a few in the Trenta Valley, are always happy to chat with you. Even more interesting and up-to-date information can be found at the Triglav National Park Information Center, located in Dom Trenta. Friendly staff will be happy to answer your questions. At the same time, you can visit the INFO center and explore the permanent exhibitions, temporary collections, and museum spaces. Whether it’s your first time or a return visit, we warmly welcome you.
Attractions
The Trenta Valley offers many natural wonders and other attractions. You can view the full list of attractions on the website of the local Soča – Trenta Tourist Association.

Source of the Soča River
The source of the Soča is one of the most beautiful karst springs in our mountains. The waters collected from the area of Jalovec, Šite, Travnik, and Mojstrovka emerge from a cave with an underground lake and flow through a narrow gorge, which soon widens. Due to the steep incline, the Soča River has a very dynamic flow. The 20-kilometer-long Soča Trail, an educational walking path, also begins at the source of the Soča River.
Visiting the Soča Source:
A 15-minute hike along a marked trail from Koča pri Izviru Soče. The path is well-maintained and secured with pegs and steel cables in the upper section. It is recommended only for visitors with appropriate footwear and is not advised for children or the elderly.

Juliana Alpine Botanical Garden
The garden is located 50 meters above the Church of St. Mary, on the slopes of Kukla, at an altitude of 800 meters. It covers an area of 2,572 m². Most of the plants in the alpine garden were brought from the Eastern and Western Julian Alps, the Friulian hills, the karst meadows, and the pre-Alpine region, with some also coming from the Karawanks and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. A special section of the garden is dedicated to non-native species from the Western Alps, the Pyrenees, the Apennines, the Atlas Mountains, and the Caucasus.
The first gardener was Anton Tožbar, whom Bois de Chesne sent for training in Padua. He was assisted in the garden by Ančka Kavs. Their work was continued by Tožbar’s daughter Marija and her husband Jože Završnik, and after his death, by their son Klemen Završnik.

Triglav Seven Lakes
The Seven Lakes in Triglav National Park are among the most beautiful natural attractions in Slovenia. They are located in a valley between the Bohinj Mountains and the Zelnarica peaks, ranging from 1,300 to 2,000 meters above sea level. These glacial lakes are known for their crystal-clear water and the stunning backdrop of surrounding peaks.
The most famous lakes include Črno Jezero (Black Lake), Dvojno Jezero (Double Lake), Rjavo Jezero (Brown Lake), and Zeleno Jezero (Green Lake). The valley is popular among hikers as it leads to Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain, offering unforgettable views of the alpine landscape.
